Targeted Grazing: The application of a specific kind of livestock, in this case, goats and sheep, at a determined season, duration, and intensity to accomplish defined vegetation or landscape goals, AKA conservation grazing or prescribed grazing.
Using a combination of goats and sheep, Wine Country Grazers focuses on projects that are 10 acres or less. Goats by nature are grazers and will eat vegetation up to 5′-6′ high and down to about 6″ from the ground. Sheep, being browsers, will only eat vegetation that is about 6″ high and they will eat it down to the ground. The dynamic duo of targeted grazing!
